UKDriving.org Scam

Written by Admin on December 14th, 2010

UKDriving.org is a scam and should be avoided at all costs. Apologies if you are reading this AFTER paying out the £49

There’s a lot of things wrong with the UK Driving sales pitch which sets off the alarm bells if you know what to look for.

The first thing you will notice is the piece of code the owner has found that shows todays date.

The owner is so impressed with this sales gimmick he’s used it twice, once at the top of the page telling you to ‘apply before midnight…14th December’ and then again lower down the page saying ‘places guaranteed for all applications made before midnight: 14th December’

Check it out again any time past midnight and the date will say 15th December. This actually used to work back around 2002 but most people nowadays no its a sales gimmick.

The next thing I don’t like is the statement in the header and repeated throughout the rest of the sales pitch saying that the company has been established since 2002. A quick search on whois.net tells me the domain was first registered on 27th April 2010, not good.

There is also a ‘as seen on TV’ badge on display but no mention of the show it was supposedly featured on.

He has 3 Web Guard badges on display saying the site is ’security verified’ ‘privacy verified’ and ‘business verified.’ These are fake and Web Guard have been informed he’s falsely displaying their badges.

Finally, at the end of the sales pitch is the AA badge and the owner clearly hopes that having the badge on display will help sales by association even though the AA had never heard of UKDriving.org until I emailed them.

The sales pitch tries to come across as a job application form and statements such as:

‘Once you start we place no limit on the driving you do’ implies you are actually guaranteed work at the end of the course.

You aren’t of course. A quick search at Google for ‘ukdriving.org scam’ reveals plenty of unfortunates who fell for the sales pitch and forked out their £49 only to find they got an out of date list of courier companies and an ebook full of bad advice. On principal I’m not about to add my name to that list.

There is no name or address on the site but if you have purchased you can request a refund through Paypal as long as you make the request within 45 days.

Update 2nd of Feburary 2011 – it has been brought to our attention that they are now implying there is a contact telephone number available to call them…. but not until you pay of course! Cleverly they are using a photo of a girl (apperently called Sam) with a headset on to reinforce this impression. We decided to buy this ourselves just to see what happens (we are quite keen to speak to the person behind this) and you know what? No telephone number anywhere to be seen in the so called members area, not even an email address!  Incredibly, they then try to sell you another scam called webworkingonline telling you how to earn another £350 a day and guess what, you will get the contact details of Maureen (another girl with a headset), but again, not until you part with another £49 for the fast start working online application! Here’s the link: webworkingonline.org

So we can confidently confirm without any doubt at all, ukdriving.org is a scam. Once we parted with our cash, we accessed a pdf file which diverted us to the menbers area, where we got a contact list that looks like it’s been copied from somewhere else and appears years out of date. There is also a courier ebook, where at least two thirds of the entire book is taken up with a contact list (cleverly only 5 contacts per page to increase the number of pages in the ebook).  A quick count revealed there are only 10-15 pages about how to be a courier, the rest of them are about sat nav’s, breakdown cover and other generic nonsense designed to bulk out the publication. So where is the Guaranteed 7 day fast start job application? As we suspected, we’ve been ripped off.

UKDriving.org also uses the domains drivingUK.net and Drivingpay.org

I got caught out by the ukdriving.org scam, basically all you get is some out of date information to download, thats it. I never got any response to my emails and there is no way to contact the person behind this. I later discovered that the address is just a mailbox address, not a real one. Just about everything they claim on the website is false, there is no work offered nor any help to get any courier work. I feel cheated.

thks for the advise
nearly fell in the trap until visiting your website

Bill Newcastle Courier January 22nd, 2011 (#)

My advice is to definitely avoid. It’s got most of the hall marks of an online scam.
1) The date at the top of the screen saying “Apply before midnight 20th Jan” – designed to make the reader believe they’ve just found a great opportunity at the last minute. I’d bet my house that if you checked back tomorrow, that will have changed to “Apply before midnight 12th June,” and will change to whatever the date is you view the site.
2) The scroll down design, all leading to an easy to fill in subscription box
3) The simple tick box style bullet points (bullet points – like this – make you keep reading and scrolling, because they’re easy)
4) Highlights in yellow to draw your eye and make everything seem even simpler and easier
5) Options that pretty much anybody who lands on the site will say yes to (Are you male OR female? Yes I am! Are you trust worthy? Yes I am! Can you work full OR part time? Yes I can! Would you enjoy £350 a day? Yes I would! I match all the criteria! This must be for me!)
6) Listing of high quality, recognised and trusted brand names (Toshiba, Amazon, Nokia.) How could it be a scam, when people like this are involved?
7) Exciting self employed opportunity! Three ideas that everybody wants. Excitement! Self Employed! OPPORTUNITY!
Big red arrows pointing, leading, you to the easy to fill in information boxes.
9) Three boxes for security, privacy and business – whatever they mean – but it’s very reassuring, isn’t it?
10) The obvious list of key words in grey at the bottom to try and increase search engine hits.

Thanks for the advice and saving me £49 and the trauma of loosing money to the scam. many thanks

eric January 23rd, 2011 (#)

drivingpay.org is the same scam as ukdriving.org, had a look at the information they send you (they don’t even send it, you just get redirected to a page after entering an email address). All they do is give you “information” on how to get in contact with companies to offer your services as a courier.

Paul Dineen January 23rd, 2011 (#)

Just thought iwould add my comment. This is a complete scam and should be shut down.I saw the add and felt it odd that no where was a phone number used then at the end of it all they hut you with the £49.
THE DAILY STAR SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PUT ADDS LIKE THIS IN THERE PAPER.But then again its the Daily Star

Thank you very much for the tip, after seeing the advertisement for UKDriving.org and filled out the form, i was bombarded with so much email that i thought I’ll give it a shot. I filled out all my card details online and later checked them out on google and thankfully i found your link claiming they were scammers. I called my bank and had my card cancelled. Thankfully they haven’t processed the transaction and i’ve saved £49 because of you!

Thanks a Million!!

jake February 1st, 2011 (#)

thanks to you all, i nearly paid money to drivingpay.org until i found this site and realised it’s a scam. cheers.

Thanks so much I was thinking of taking this ” driving job ” up but my son in law googled the website and forunately found this telling people what a scam it is. So thankyou for stopping me making a big mistake, Is it not illegal for this Scott to be doing this and if it isnt it should be.
Many Thanks.

Rich February 3rd, 2011 (#)

I’m one of the unfortunate (and stupid) ones to have sent the £49, something I will never get back!

They literally do nothing except send you a copied list of out of date companys, and bombard you with e-mails trying to convince you to waste another £49

I hope the one whos behind it (Scott) reads this and knows that he is a complete tool.

RG February 3rd, 2011 (#)

Hi
I am just like all of the people here looking for work.
Hoping for that little opportunity and putting all the efforts into paying the bills and hope that at the end of all the hard work that you put in, you may just have a little bit left over to treat the other half or your Mom / Dad / Brother / Sister etc…….
And “BANG” up pops another SCOTT, praying on peoples eagerness and weakness, to want to work and earn money.

I have been badgered by this company for weeks, I was very interested at first and entered my details to get more info!
The more I investigated the more I thought it was a scam.
I decided to put scott and his driving opportunity into the “JUNK BOX” but he has now found another way into my in box by calling his mail “THE NEW STARTER DEPT”.

I decided to have one final look around and if I couldn’t find anything nasty about it I was going to part with my £49.

Thank goodness I found this site!!!!

Unlucky SCOTT you are well and truly in the trash can

thanks again keep up the good work.

I was looking for driving jobs in another area of England. This company came up first as a paid advert on Google. Of course it’s a scam, couriers don’t earn this sort of money, I know it’s what I do. This/these pondslime should be drowned, but if caught they get a very small fine and they start again under a new name, etc. Leeches!

Jess Powell February 28th, 2011 (#)

So pleased I found this site, it did seem to good to be true which is why I looked into it further. You should never have to pay money out up front for a normal paid job! Its a shame though as it would of been good to fit around family commitments, flexibility with great pay!!

Thanx everyone for the info, was suspecting it’s another scam. Is there any IT security or trading standards really working in this country? This scam has been around for a while now. Feel sorry for every one cheated by them in these hard times, who knows how many people fell for that. On my opinion they should be arrested and locked up like every bloody crook, and this Scott hanged by his b****s. Ed.

I’ve just spotted a new scam, not sure of it is connected to ukdriving.org but its definately one to beware of. drivingjobcentre.co.uk it has all the hallmarks of scam. £24.95 an hour, shifts etc.. What’s really suspicious is the letter I received in the post yesterday, professionally written, saying that I needed references and that they recommend The Reference Group. If you look at both sites they are of very similar design and were registered at roughly the same time. They say they have years of experience in this business yet the website thereferencegroup.co.uk was only registered a couple of weeks ago. Basically this is a scam designed to hoodwink you into paying £50 for a work reference, and then not get any work at all. There was a similar scam a few years ago which was closed down by the police/trading standards, i think it was called Jobs for Drivers. I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has had contact with this company and if anyone knows if they are connected with the ukdriving.org scam?

Pat March 21st, 2011 (#)

I had a looked at their website “UKdriving.org” and filled in the application details, then was asked for a payment of £49.50. This made me suspicious, so I didn’t continue. I later received emails from somebody called “Scott” telling me that I was very near to becoming a successfull applicant. This mornong I received another email from Scott telling me how good his company is and trying to give an explanation of how much better his company is. Obviously he is desparate and his presistance prompted me to look on the web for any further info, and that’s where I found this site. So thanks very much you have saved me £49.50 and I haven’t wasted my time.

steve March 21st, 2011 (#)

I nearly fell for the http://www.drivingjobcentre.co.uk scam.

It was only the badly worded site that made me check the code on the site and seen just what an amateur botch of a couple of sites they have there.

I too looked at the advert and like most other people worked on the old adage ‘if its too good to be true…’ before I paid any money out. There are a lot of very desparate people out there looking to earn some honest cash and scumbags like Scott are preying on them. I have read that he has been reported by I am still getting around 3 email a day telling me what a great opportunity this is – close the site down, arrest him and throw away the key

I saw a DrivingJobCentre ad on gumtree, filled out the application and got a crap letter through the post today.
I checked out TheReferenceGroup.co.uk – load of crap. I used a fake name to get through the “Buy” screen and sure enough they want £49.65.

Amusingly you can also get through to the “Buy” screen without putting any personal details in.

I reported the ad to gumtree, and DJC & TRG to consumeradvice.gov.

Has anyone given the people running the sites a piece of their mind, or are you waiting for the ‘authorities’ to bring them down?

Cheers for the blog entry – I’m glad I googled.

Mick March 31st, 2011 (#)

I echo all of the above!

I too received a letter, and was immediately suspicious of the content. A quick look at the referencegroup website, showing wording such as ‘Was you sent here by an employer’… not a huge grammatical success!

So, money saved but real anger at the way they bank on the desperation that today’s job market has brought on!!

Tony March 31st, 2011 (#)

I hope ukdriving.org have a sense of irony and a sense of humour!!!???!!

E mail trail below – Scott of UKD e mailed me…I responded…read on.

Hello Scott

Thanks for your e mail.

I think the opportunity to earn £350 per day is fantastic.

However, my concern is that your website shows no UK Company / VAT Registration details as required by law on all company publications offering products and services for sale …..you were established in 2002 – I assume that a business of your significance and size will be a Ltd or PLC organisation. Equally, I assume your annual turnover exceeds £75,000 however, no VAT Registration details are obvious.

Before I send you my payment details – can you please furnish me with the above information – I can then cross check with the relevant authorities.

I am sure there is nothing for me to be concerned about and I am certain that my simple “details request” will be of no issue to an open and honest organisation.

I cannot wait to pay you and get started – driving along the highways and by-ways of the UK, earning loadsa dosh!!

I look forward to receiving the information

Regards

Tony

I have been thinking of taking up courier work for some time; I love driving and want to be my own boss. Came across this site and like others alarm bells started to ring. However, judging by the amount of interest, there seems to be a demand for a genuine courier organisation. Would it be possible to start one? There are a number of would be drivers here. Could it be done cheaply? Not only would we know it is a safe organisation but we might be able to put this little sh-t out of business. Please do not email me. I will monitor this site for interest and start thinking how we could do this. Alan

Thanks to this site, I hope you burn in hell. Taking advantage of the people who will PAY to receive work should be unacceptable in our society anyway, but of our honest people (above and beyond ) who are willing to do for a honest days work for honest days pay, YOU F**KS SHOULD BE ASHAMED! You will be reported, and you will eventually be looked into! Nothing no surer boys!

This is probably the most important email we’ll send you about driving for money.

So that we can best concentrate on helping those already on board…

… we’ll taking the precaution of WITHDRAWING the “7 Day Fast-Start Driving Application”
information to the general public in a very short while.

niall I hope what you’ve read so far has been of use to you.

Communication is a wonderful thing and the world would be a better place if we all just spoke to each other more.

You see it’s all very well having ‘insider’ information that practically guarantees you’ll have a great time earning money on the road.

Obviously that would be of great benefit to you.

But of course happiness doesn’t just depend on how full your bank account is.

There’s much more to life than that.

It’s not JUST about the m0ney.

It’s what being r1ch GIVES YOU!

>>> http://www.UKDriving.org/driving

… And when you’ve made up your mind.
Just imagine the pride in yourself you will feel when you’re a success!

Imagine your friends and family seeing you in this positive new light and looking at you as someone to be respected!

Isn’t all of that worth more than mere money..?

Be brave, be bold.

?? opportunities left.

As ever, your friend in success,

Scott

(if you can’t click on this link then
just copy & paste it into your browser).

P.S. This is a very personal point of view.
I also happen to believe strongly in putting something back into society once you’ve become more successful yourself.

People should help each other where they can and you’ll feel a bigger and better person for being just that little bit helpful to others.

If you decide you wish to give a little away to charity; may I humbly suggest you give a thought to Cancer Research..?

Even if you were to make just the occasional donation out of your earnings anonymously
– this great and worthy organisation would benefit enormously.

And you’d feel 10 feet tall too…

God bless.

Hi Scott,

My fiance, initially contacted your website when she was doing a bit of job hunting on my behalf. I’d been doing a lot of moaning about my HGV driving job… in particular the unsocial hours and poor remuneration, so the first impressions presented by your invitation certainly caught our attention.

The thing is however, the more I read, the more sceptical I became about the actual probabilty/possibilty of realising the sort of earnings that were be suggested. …There is one simple adage that anyone is wise to bear in mind… “if something seems to good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true”. So I’m a little wary that this whole venture is perhaps not so much about selling a viable business opportunity, as it is about selling “hope” to naive and in many cases vulnerable candidates who are evidently looking for a goose to lay a golden egg. That said, I’m curious and I might be willing to be persuaded if you are willing to address this concern with a personal reply. If it’s plausible and and clearly a personal response touching on the aspects I’ve raised above,(not an automated, off the shelf offering, pulled from the “appease the sceptics file”) then I’m interested and I’ve got one very pertinent question…
Is it available in N. Ireland…?
*****************
As you can see folks I’m like a lot of you. That’s what i wasted 20 mintes writing to the so and so! It easy to be sucked in because you want it to be even half as good as it sounds. I’m a pretty bright guy, I thought, but I was nearly very stupid! thanks for the site and the lesson….

rich May 6th, 2011 (#)

i first saw this advertised in a paper in north london and looked on website on my fone and thought its not that easy to earn that sort of money like that the looked on internet for jobs couple of days ago and saw it again

i looked at site again and thought maybe it is genuine after all so fillrd out the application form online then got to the payment page and couldnt understand why i was being charged i thought it was a pop up as no where else in the site does it mention a up front payment.

i have also recieved numerous e mails from them from scott and someone called greg aswell.

anyone heard of local courier services they asking £75, website looks profesional.
they sent this email

Thank you for your recent application with us. As you are aware you have been accepted as a self-employed owner driver with Local Courier Services. You now need to complete activation so that your details go live on our database and you can start to work. Once activation is complete, this takes about 36 hours; you will be listed on our database as a courier for the region that you specified in your application. In addition to this we will also send to you full instructions for the role. The driving force behind LCS is to keep things as simple as possible therefore everything is uncomplicated which means all our procedures are child’s play so the is nothing to worry about.

Our pay rates to you work out at between £24.95 per hour and £36.95 per hour depending on the amount of items carried and the time of day. All payments are made within three days of any completed delivery This works out as follows, on an average day you would probably have five items that you would pick up locally to you, and these five separate items may have to go to three different areas say on average 50 miles away. That would make your revenue for the day approx £350.00 less wear and tear, fuel and other costs this woul leave a minimum of £280.00 Far higher amounts can be earned too and we have one of the best pay rates in the country.

To complete activation you need to make a payment of £75.00 this pays for your inclusion on our database of couriers for six months, it also give you access to our support service. As previously said you will be paid in full within one week for any work completed. This can be paid to you in cash, bank transfer or cheque form. Our role is to supply you regular well paid on-going work so that you remain with us indefinitely. If you are not happy we refund your money in full. (See guarantee below)

More than half of your £75.00 that you pay is ploughed straight back into marketing you so that you receive regular work. Our main marketing tool is Google where we have a front page presence under the search term “Local Courier Services” we aim to be in the top three results, however we are usually” Number 1″. This guarantees that you will have a steady, on-going stream of work that pays one of the best rates in the business. We have invested heavily to make sure we are ranking in the top three on Google, this has a massive impact on the level and quality of work you receive.

The reason we ask for the small upfront payment is because we need to be sure you are completely serious about the role as a courier for us, this lets us know that you are. It is also revenue that you benefit from direcly as the lions share is used to keep you and us on the first page of Google so regular work continues to flow. Because of our guarantee this means that the upfront payment is of no risk to you. You cant lose
your money. See guarantee below.

Our Guarantee: If you are not happy with any aspect of our service within a thirty day period you can request a full refund which will be promptly paid in full. We offer this guarantee as we have complete confidence in our service.

To make a secure online payment with any debit or credit card please click the link below and you will be taken to our payments page where you can make a secure payment via Barclays merchant services. Once payment is received you will receive a receipt, become active on the database and also receive full instructions for the role. At this point our support service is also open to you.

Make a secure online payment by clicking here!

I would officially like to welcome you on board and I hope we have a long mutually beneficial working relationship. If you have any further queries please contact us and we would be delighted to answer them.

Yours Sincerely

Paul Davis

B JONES May 10th, 2011 (#)

HELLO IS local courier services a scam can anyone tell me looks good but i,am very specious, they are looking for £75 up front, thanks.

G. Thomson May 10th, 2011 (#)

I was seriously thinking of paying £49 to become a courier with UK Driving when my wife said check them out first before you part with £49 – and Im glad I did. My daughter also says she was taught at at Uni during her Business degree that you should never pay to get a job – very good advice. Glad there are sites like this to show up these rogues!

Mark May 10th, 2011 (#)

LCS also a scam. Anybody who asks for a registration fee is surely a fraud!

J DOUGHTY May 10th, 2011 (#)

THANKS FOR INFO, I HEARD ABOUT THIS FROM A COLLEAGUE FROM WORK SO THOUGHT I WOULD CHECK IT OUT, GLAD I SAW THIS SITE FIRST,
THANKS JOHN

Ronnie May 11th, 2011 (#)

I’m also attempting to find out if this service is a scam. I received the same email as above and I became suspicious when they asked for a registration fee.

I’ve been on their website and entered postcodes into the database to see if they actually have any couriers in those areas.

The several I’ve put in do point me towards a courier and give me their details e.g. name, email, telephone number and whether they’re available or not. So, from that point of view, it looks valid. I suppose the question is whether any of them have had any work from LCS or not.

Maybe contacting one or two of the listed couriers and asking them about their experience with LCS would solve this question.

Graeme May 11th, 2011 (#)

LCS is almost certainly a scam, I applied and got the same email as above. I was suspicious and so wrote to the email supplied with some questions. I sent two emails and also filled in a contact form on the website but never received a reply. I tried calling but no one ever picked up – it would ring then a recored voice would say ‘call terminated’.
For a functioning business this all seemed very dodgy, which was hard to digest seeing as the website looks so professional. They even have a section where you can supposedly contact their couriers. I tried entering a random postcode and a couple of names/contact details came up. Thinking these were people who had successfully registered, I wrote to one and had a reply from a guy who had paid the money a week ago but not had any work.
Another observation is that there are some news bulletins on the website dated January and March, but after a quick look on Whois it seems the domain was only registered last month, in April.
What does anyone else think about this?
Looks highy suspicious to me.

gary May 11th, 2011 (#)

I too was nearly sucked in by this lowlife until a voice in my head told me to be careful.I investigated further and came across your website which enlightened me.Many thanks for that.In todays society when many people are desperate for work the scum sucking leeches should be tarred and feathered, then hung out to dry in their home town market place, drastic maybe, but well deserved. We all should remember ,if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

after they sent me an email similar to what everyone has been talking about on this forum : asking me to pay an upfront of £75 for a self employed courier job to have my details register on their data base with a potential of earning £350.
Does any know if this is a scam .

How do these people get away with it. Surely this is fraud. I nearly got scammed by ukdriving.org
The address in 1 of the blogs above is quite close to where i live, and maybe going and giving this guy a good kicking and robbing back what they have stolen from poor innocent people, just trying to find work and pay the bills, would justify this.

Vixx May 25th, 2011 (#)

Nearly fell for the LCS scam, so glad I came across this website before being conned out of £75!! Sounded too good to be true so googled it and found all of your comments. Why isn’t the website being shut down? Isn’t there any kind of online regulatory body? I feel sorry for those that don’t research these companies. Will stay away from anything similar in the future.

larry June 1st, 2011 (#)

thanks guys for the info, thought too good to be true

smelt BS when I saw:
no questions about driving record
same re personal history
CRB-may be needed?
then asking for up front £75

don’t websites check advertisers out first, or is it simply that they have the same moneygrabbing mentality?

I’m going to write to the site I saw the ad on, for their feedback, & suggest you do the same…

good luck with your bona fide jobhunting!

Dave A. June 1st, 2011 (#)

Thanks guys for a damned good info.-site. Like many other people, I was intrigued by the driving.org site – it certainly looked kosher at first glance. Your info. has saved me £49 that I can ill afford to lose, so thanks a bundle. One question:- is there any way to stop these sharks?

Give Gary / Robert a call, ask for your money back directly from the site owners.

Gary Smith (a4money2day@aol.com) +44.07967023809. Parkfield House Park Street Stafford, ST17 4AL

I did, they paid up straight away.

I was just about to bite the obvious scam. The guys kept sending me emails every day showing how nice is going to be after I will pay them £49.00.
I learned my lesson: never pay upfront for a job.
Thanks all for your comments.

Just about fell for LCS scam thank god for google and all you good people for taking the time to inform others. Thanks to all who have posted before. I would like to be a courier it is some thing i have always wanted to do. does anyone know of a legitamite company we could contact. or possible advice on how to get started.

Arnold June 4th, 2011 (#)

I checked the internet for courier companies and saw this LOCAL COURIER SERVISES (LCS). Little did I know they are sham. I almost fell for it, but suddenly saw their address and the building happened to be close to where I worked before. So I went to pay them a visit, only to find out that there is nobody by that name – PAUL DAVIS. The unit mentioned on the site is being used by a different company that claimed they have never heard of such name.

does any one know if alldaycouriers.com is a scam thanks

Thanks team have sat curious about this mob for a few weeks so googled them in the end and look what I find, a bunch a cheapskate con merchants. Big thank you from me with my £49 still in my pocket, cheers!!!

Shaun Thwaites June 8th, 2011 (#)

Hi
Yea LCS seems like a classic con, you can always tell when there is no obvious number on the website , a legit company woul be available by phone, also address does not look right
AVOID http://www.localcourierservices.net
Shaun

Alan June 8th, 2011 (#)

I checked with you before signing up to LCS (Paul Davis).
Thanks – saved me £75.00.
It would be interesting to find out if anyone out there does know of a legitimate operator in this field.

Excellent advise, nearly took the bait, thank you.

anyone heard of wdmg ltd regarding self employed courier work earning in excess of £250 a day?

coolhandfluke June 10th, 2011 (#)

Thanks. If I had applied and they asked for £49 I would’nt have paid anyway. No reputable company recruits in this way. People still do though as looking on this forum was as a result of an advert placed in the Daily Express yesterday.

Moses June 10th, 2011 (#)

Thank God I decided to investigate this, and thank you all for your contribution. There are so many questions that came to mind when I received the company’s mail, confirming that I am already been employed.. I won’t say those questions as I have the feeling that they seem to be using people info to update their data so as to misguide others from thinking that it is the same company. Now Paul Davis is asking for £75.00. People behind scams like this should not be allowed to last a week once the truth of their motives are exposed, and for those who have the evidences (who have fallen for their scam), I suggest they notify the police, otherwise, many people are falling daily.

Many thanks

Hello All,

I Live in the South West and almost fell for the LCS(www.localcourierservices.net) Scam. It’s JUNE 15th 2011 and people like this still manage to trade legally.

It’s the usual trap for the desperate, all I can say is “Caveat emptor”, it’s Latin for “Let the buyer beware”.

Be Lucky out there People,

Andrew

I registered with LCS unfortunatly and paid my £75. Its been 2 weeks since and ive sent about 5 emails, no reply and called the number umpteen times, surprise surprise, no reply! i wanted my money back from their 30 day ‘guarantee!’ I found this website and my fears were confirmed that its a big scam. I paid by credit card, thank god, as ive literally just got off the phone to them and they’re going to investigate and also refund my money back into my account. So if anyone else daft enough like me has paid the £75 using your credit card then get onto them and you’ll get ur money back! I also left a few msgs on the pricks orange mobile lol!!!

Dulal June 16th, 2011 (#)

Thanks guys, I had the same email to the junk mail from LCS but I actually had boubt and was looking for if they are asking for the registration fee. So finaly YES they are scam asking to pay £75.
Thanks god I did not pay anything and just an advise to all ‘any websites or a person ask to pay for the money to get you on to a potential job or big earning’ PLZ JUST IGNOR AS IT’S A BIG SCAM!!!!!!

Looks like there’s a new one on the go!
http://www.uk-courierservices.net

Found them advertising on Engineering Jobsite, I clicked on the link and took me to their website, looked professional. So I registered for a job with them, £350 per day!
Got an email from them today, from a Jason Fletcher
asking that I had the job but needed to pay them £95 to complete the registration process, (which they said went straight back into advertising) more like right into their pockets! It almost had me fooled.

Here’s a copy of the email he sent me;

Dear

Thank you for your recent application with us. As you are aware you have been accepted as a self-employed owner driver with UK Courier Services. You now need to complete activation so that your details go live on our database and you can start to work. Once activation is complete you will be listed on our database as a courier for the region that you specified in your application. In addition to this we will also send to you full instructions for the role. The driving force behind UK-CS is to keep operations as straightforward as possible therefore everything is uncomplicated which means all our procedures are immersed in simplicity.

Our pay rates to you work out at between £25.95 per hour and £35.95 per hour depending on the amount of items carried and the time of day. All payments are made within three days of any completed delivery however its usually on the day. This works out as follows, on an average day you would probably have five items that you would pick up locally to you, and these five separate items may have to go to three different areas say on average 50 miles away. That would make your revenue for the day approx £350.00 less wear and tear, fuel and other costs this woul leave a minimum of £280.00 Far higher amounts can be earned too and we have one of the best pay rates in the country.

To complete activation you need to make a payment of £95.00 via Pay Pal this pays for your inclusion on our database of couriers for one year, it also give you access to our support service. Please Note: You do not need a paypal account to make payment. As previously said you will be paid in full within three days for any work completed. This can be paid to you in cash, bank transfer or cheque form. Our role is to supply you regular well paid on-going work so that you remain with us indefinitely. If you are not happy we refund your money in full. (See guarantee below)

More than half of your £95.00 that you pay is ploughed straight back into marketing you so that you receive regular work. Our main marketing tool is Google where we have a front page presence under the search term “Uk Courier Services” we aim to be in the top three results, however we are usually” Number 1″. This guarantees that you will have a steady, on-going stream of work that pays one of the best rates in the business. We have invested heavily to make sure we are ranking in the top three on Google. This has a massive impact on the level and quality of work you receive.

To make a secure online payment with any debit or credit card please click the link below and you will be taken to our payments page where you can make a secure payment via Paypal. We use paypal so that you have complete control over the transaction at all times. Once payment is received you will receive a receipt, you will also be automatically be taken to our activation page. It is important that you follow all instructions and complete activation. Full instructions for the role will be available at this point.

Make a secure online payment by clicking here!

I would officially like to welcome you on board and I hope we have a long mutually beneficial working relationship. If you have any further queries please contact us and we would be delighted to answer them.

Yours Sincerely

Jason Fletcher

No offence to anyone with this terrible disease but after reading that ukdriving and lcs and poss others are all scammers and that i parted with £49 back in feb 2010 i feel im rapidly getting a dose of terets syndrome. Hi
I just responded to this add on Daily Express yesterday thought it sounded too good to be true and sure enough your contributors have proved that. I am so am so annoyed that this once again joins the massive list of money making scams when all us average guys are trying to do is make an honest living and seek genuine opportunities.

Tony# August 4th, 2011 (#)

Thanks for the warning. The website looks impressive. I did sent a email to them requesting more info & got a reply from them quickly but the contents of their email suggested that they are using auto-reply facility on Outlook Express, nothing heard from since then.
Now I’m more worried as they got my email address & they might sell on to other scammers/spammers!…

Thank goodness i found this out cos i was actually going to sign up for this tomorrow when i was in receipt of some money – so glad i won’t be doing that now, and its not only Scott who sends out constant e-mails – someone called Greg has also e-mailed me previous too – couple of good-for-nothing gits!

Well done with review. Is it safe to assume WDMG Ltd fall into same catagory? The website for them is http://www.driverconnection.co.uk but I dug out an old flyer from them (must have received 2 or 3 years ago)which didn’t indicate a website back then, only a mailing address in Bristol, where they still seem to be operating from.

i am very glad i did not shell out any cash to uk driving for the simple reason it is one big con.the
only guide that i will pay money for is the crv courier guide as it tells it like it is from the real people who work in the courier industry and they are professionals, not like these people who are only in it to make money.

keith September 18th, 2011 (#)

Having been a trade plate driver with a professional delivery and collection company,I looked at this and it was obvious from the start that no professional company in the driving world would act in this way,I have met many courier drivers in this field during my career and this company name does not seem to exist. DONT go near them, the companies involved in this sort of work DO NOT ask for up front fees. Be warned

Donald MacLeod September 29th, 2011 (#)

Hi Folks,

In the same boat but that was about 10 years ago. I think it was around £39.95 then. I then got ripped off by another mob, cannot rememeber their name.I paid approx £40 and all I had to do was wait for the call for courier….still waiting after 10 years. Can find it funny but these arse holes should be brought to book…

Regards

Hi All,

Thank you so much for alerting me to this scam, I just paid £49 then research more about what I was paying (foolish I know), however I did find you all before the money when out of my account and I had time to transfere the money to a different account and cancel my card. So a BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! for saving me money I could not afford to spend in the first place, however I do feel very stupid for falling for it.

but I am wrong.

Steve October 11th, 2011 (#)

Dear Gregg and/or Scott….I know you are a bunch of thieving scum, I have read all I need to know on the various courier forums. But do you know anything about me? Obviously not. Do you know what a crb check is? Of course not. If you did, you’d have checked me out and found out that I am a convicted murderer.I was released about a year ago and I’m desperately searching for that elusive employment opportunity. Institutionalized people often find it difficult to enter into society and often re-offend, just to get back into prison. After continuous setbacks, I feel the same way as countless others. Therefore on behalf of my brother, who was taken in by you and everyone else unfortunate enough to fall for your con, I will search for you and I WILL find you, therefore ensuring I can return to the life I’ve always known.

I saw the advert for drivingdirect.org in the daily mail. How can they even allow them to advertise???
I got email after email after entering my email address on their stupid site, but at the bottom of an email it gave me an address… “Email Service Centre, 7 Clifford Street, Yorkshire, UK YO1 9RA”
No idea if thats anything to do with the company or if anyone has mentioned it before, way to many comments to read through.
Also got an email when i asked to be taken off their mailing list with a phone number “07931 671 438″
When i took myself off i ticked the “this is a scam” box on the page too… dont know if it will help get rid of them though

have just read through all the previous comments relating to this scam. Not one person has written in to say they have made any money. This is obviously a major scam which is getting a lot of interest from people like me who are desperately looking to EARN some money not to be throwing it away to con merchants like these.Thank God I found this website.

Jim January 5th, 2012 (#)

Thankyou for confirming my suspicions although I must say I was a bit tempted by so called easy money in these hard times. I am not currently working and I cannot afford to be ripped off for £49 quid. What rangt alerm bells for me was the concept of so called “specialist courier work” as opposed to normal courier work. They say you will be picking up things like cheques, computer parts, passports, lap tops, legal documents etc – ie the same sort of things a normal everyday courier picks up. I think this is a week part of the scam because they have to somehow justify how you would earn much more than a normal courier and frankly it doesn’t add up.

My poor husband was totally taken in by these people. He is desparate to find a job after 18 months unemployment and thought he’d finally found something and jumped in – with both feet. He nows feels even more of a loser than he did. How can these people still be scamming the vulnerable after all this time?

I’m so glad that my partner looked into this and told me it was a scam, if it was not for her looking it up on googl and showing me all the above comment from other ppl,i would of lost 49! They are trying to rip honest ppl of who want to earn a living.

These scamming f*****s deserve to be shot, trying to get what’s left of peoples money who are in need of more to live. I was drawn in but luckily found this page before giving the £49. Feel better now.
