Self Employed Courier
Written by Admin on March 12th, 2010
There’s something not quite right about the Self Employed Courier website. It says it’s staff have over 22 years experience in the freelance courier market yet they don’t say who they are.
It mentions ‘£300 a day’ and ‘£1500 a week’ a bit too much and seems to be trying to appeal to greed rather than tempting the reader with what’s in the content.
It says it is only 60 pages but includes the contact details of over 1100 courier businesses, which appears to takes up at least half of the ebook, not leaving much in the way of useful information.
It says it has a no quibble guarantee yet there are no terms to be found anywhere.
On the frequently asked questions page we did find an info address to someone at sweetmoneybusinesspublications.com which is a company run by a Mr. Shaun Smith which claims to show people how to make easy money online.
Further research into Mr. Smith led us to several of his blogs and on 1 we found a video of him telling his viewers how Self Employed Courier nets him over £700 a week and is just one of his many online ventures. There is also some very worrying information reported back about previous scams he has been involved with.
Now i don’t know if Mr. Smith is referring to himself when he talks about 22 years in the courier business but Sweet Money Publications seems to be a one man band and he claims to have been full time on line for many years. I suspect he has never actually been a courier at all and his only experience of courier work is selling this guide.
Regards the guarantee: The internet is full of people complaining about this guy so you spends your money and takes your chance. We decided not to bother.
On the plus side it’s just under £20 although only available in e-book form. However, given shaun smiths reputation, proceed with caution.

Unlike you I took a chance. Waste of a good tenner. What information it has is years out of date and isn’t relevent to anyone starting up as a courier today.
Most of its pages are taken up by the list of 1100 courier companies but again, years out of date. One that was listed in my area went out of business in 2004!
None of the couriers who started up within the last 5 years or so in my area (Sheffield) were listed.
Don’t waste your money on this. If you want a genuine guide to being a self employed courier I recommend the CRV one.
This guy is a total scammer. just a quick google of “shaun smith scam prison” reveals the truth about him see below:
HOMEWORKERS ‘CONNED WITH KITS’
“Fraudsters made more than £1m in Staffs and Wolverhampton giving home workers items that were nearly impossible to assemble, Stafford Crown Court heard. Victims paid £65 to make items which were deemed substandard, jurors heard. Shaun Smith, Sarah Tunnicliffe, Ralph and Janine Blore, of Wolverhampton, Craig Bradley, of Shropshire and Dwayne Dawson, of Staffs, deny involvement.”

Shaun Smith is now trading under the name of SMP courier guide – watch out, its the same scam as before.
Lucky i found this site, just did some research of my own on shaun smith and his self employed courier website (smp courier guide) and i found a news article from the bbc confirming he is indeed a convicted scammer.

Thanks for the information guys, I to have found the crv one to be quite good also. People like Mr Smith make this job harder than it already is.
This book is not a scam as such, although shaun smith has clearly been invlolved in some very serious scams, it’s just simlpy a very poor and out of date product. In 2011 it’s not relevant and definately not worth the money.
I paid 20 quid for the smp courier guide thinking that the guy selling it was an experienced courier, but now i realise he has some other company called sweet money publications which sell ebooks on how to make money off the inernet, probably on how to con people like me into paying for a load of out of date rubbish.
BLIMEY £20 Thats cheap hes trying to sell it to me for £47.Glad i check things out first and Shaun Smith if you read these,GET a life and dont prey on others.
That’s £20 saved that would have been wasted if i hadn’t found this website first. The smp courier guide looked convincing but con men like shaun smith usually are.
No wonder I kept receiving mails from SMP urging me to purchase the guide. I am so glad I came across this website, tks guys. I’ll check out the crv guide.
Beware there is another one of these dodgy sites with same routine http://www.directdriving.org, read these comments before going on site and then went on it and noticed the same info for the scam. Also this company is advertising in loot.
All of these guides sell information that is unrealistic, poor or not even relevant, one of the sellers of these guides admitted to me the guides are based on theory, in theory its possible to earn £XXX a day!
Dont waste your money on any of them, google courier owner drivers, the information is all there & free!
This guy seems to me a real con artist. And to be honest he nearly con me. I’ve completed the online form in detail only to click submit, then the door bell rang and went to attend to the person and didnt return to my PC until hours later. I’ve decided to bell him but no answer, left a number of messages, no reply and because of this i didnt continue the process. It seems to me i was only seconds from departing with my £49.99.
From everyones post that i ve read ive realised that this book is becoming more and more expensive every year. Thanks guys.
